BACKGROUND: The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Employee Education System (EES) Innovations Division, when appropriate, will use the Serious Educational Game Solutions (SEGS) to bridge training gaps that have been identified and vetted through the EES Client Service Office, SimPortal, Simulation Steering Committee or a Customer. The target learners for serious gaming products are healthcare providers and associated health care specialists, Veterans, and support personnel. This training modality product provides for a quick and efficient training methodology to educate staff personnel on medical policies or procedures. To get the latest Gaming applications to those who need them, the Government first needs to find out what is already in use and available in the Government and in the commercial environment. It also needs to be determined if the existing applications are current or in need of revision or replacement. In order to standardized all Government Gaming applications development the initial study and analyses will consist of the establishment of a standardized Gaming framework by all Contractors (Prime &Sub-Contractors) under the Serious Educational Game Solutions (SEGS) IDIQ Contract with Government representatives support that captures specific tasks and deliverable as outlined in the SEGS Basic Performance Work Statement (PWS). SCOPE OF WORK: The Contractor shall conduct studies and analyses of Government and commercial applications that are: available, unproven, and operating at various Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) locations. Obsolescence and modernization of applications shall be considered. Training issues shall also be considered.
