Background - The E-Verify program is actively planning to pilot a new employment verification process that it believes will increase efficiency(s) that can be realized for employers and employees alike. This proposed E-Verify process reduces burden on employers while empowering employees to participate in the employee eligibility verification process as well as own their own employment eligibility status. This new process will complement the existing E-Verify program and gives employers/employees options for how they participate in any employment verification process offered/mandated by the government. Objective - This RFI is intended to identify firms that have the ability to develop secure, scalable identity verification and management platforms that can enable an employee to verify his/her identity, verify their work authorization (through a web services interface with the governments Verification Information System), and communicate that status to his/her employer. In addition, these developed platforms shall allow employees to store their employment authorization status in an account based fashion, and be able to revisit and use that account to prove work authorization status in the future. Interested companies shall have (and be able to demonstrate) the depth and breadth of resources, knowledge, and experience to accomplish these activities by showing experience with developing and implementing identity verification services, identity management platforms, and scalable technologies in a secure manner that protects the confidentiality of personally identifiable information (PII).
