Entitlement determinations for disability compensations claims and disability pension claims are made by employees working in VBA Offices. Part of the disability process is the utilization of private medical records to establish continuity of treatment of the Veteran or claimant s claimed disability condition. The requirement of this PWS is to reduce the amount of time spent waiting for a Private Healthcare Provider (PHP) to send medical records to VBA from 40 plus days to 12 days or less with successful retrievals in 90% or greater of all cases by providing streamlined, service focused retrieval service of private medical records.
