The Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) operates and maintains information technology infrastructure necessary to support it mission. -- The network infrastructure services and activities are managed within OMP through the Office of Information Technology (OIT) divisions, Operations Management Division (OMD). -- OIG is widely distributed across the continental United States, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. -- OIG operates and maintains its information technology (IT) infrastructure in a Government Owned/Contractor Operated (GO/CO) business model using cost reimbursable contracts. -- OIG�s endeavors to improve service quality while reducing or containing the cost of operation and maintenance of its infrastructure. -- As a result, OIG plans to shift to performance based contracts using a mix of GO/CO and Contractor Owned and Operated (CO/CO) business models. -- More specifically, OIG plans to use commercially available managed services and cloud services to shift financial and operational risk to the service provider.
