Agency: Department of Energy Office: SLAC National Accelerator Lab Location: SLAC National Accelerator Lab Type: Sources Sought Response Date: NAICS: 541511 - Custom Computer Programming Services Summary: Access to laboratory and industrial spaces throughout Stanford Linear Accelerator (SLAC) located at 2575 Sand Hill Road Menlo Park, CA. is primarily managed by an engineering control (locked doors with physical keys). Once access is granted to an individual, the monitoring of that individual's work release and training and thus permission to access the room is purely administrative. This project will increase efficiency by using technology to automate the process. It will implement a scalable and flexible approach to allowing people into controlled spaces while assuring SLAC/DOE that training is complete and up to date and elements of Work Planning and Control have been addressed. Processes and deliverables that are in scope for the Logic Based RFID Access are: Design and build user interface application for room owners and designees to report the data and maintain the logic of access rules used to allow access into areas. Design and build the integration of all required data sources and systems (defined in Section VIII) into a single automated access control application.
